Central Villages Anglican Church has been at home in the Central Blue Mountains for over 130 years.
Founded as 'Emmanuel Church Lawson' in 1884 by some local Christians who were keen to have a place to worship close to home, Central Villages Anglican has been teaching people about Jesus ever since.
Today we're just as passionate as we have ever been to share Jesus with the people who live in the Central Mountains. We're made up of people from the villages of Linden, Woodford, Hazelbrook, Lawson and Bullaburra, and from further afield. Our youngest members are newborns, our oldest members are in their nineties, and there are people from every decade in between! All united by a desire to love and live and share the gospel of Jesus, with each other and with our friends and neighbours.
We're proud to be part of the Sydney Anglican network of churches, and get along really well with our fellow local churches Lawson Baptist Church and Woodford Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Tom Melbourne
Tom has been the Minister at Central Villages Anglican Church Lawson since February 2018. Along with his wife Alison and children Ted, Zach and Rosie, he is enjoying getting to know this amazing part of the world, and the people who call it home!
Tom grew up in Penrith, and was previously Assistant Minister at Emu Plains Anglican Church. He graduated from Moore Theological College in 2013.
Give Tom a day free, and he will probably spend it watching some NFL or Cricket, having a dig in the garden, jumping on the trampoline with his kiddos, and cooking a curry.
James joined Central Villages Anglican Church Lawson as Student Minister in 2019. He and his wife, Fiona, moved to Faulconbridge in early 2018 after living on Sydney's Northern Beaches for a number of years.
In addition to being a Student Minister, James works in an IT consulting firm and is studying a Graduate Diploma part-time at Christ College in Burwood.
James loves swimming, bee keeping and listening to music. He also enjoys trying to decrease the number of books on his to-read list!
Church Wardens (2020)
Our Church Wardens are elected by the whole church to take charge of the Property, Finance, Employment and WHS. They are assisted in these big areas of responsibility by an elected Parish Council.
